Abstract
This article analyzes the role of historical costumes in the development of contemporary fashion, their influence on the design and garment creation process, and the ways in which elements of historical clothing appear in modern fashion trends. Historical costumes are important works of art that reflect the cultural heritage, aesthetic views, social status, and lifestyles of different peoples. Contemporary designers combine tradition and innovation by incorporating cuts, fabrics, ornaments, colors, and silhouettes characteristic of historical periods. The article examines the influence of costumes from antiquity, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the nineteenth and twentieth centuries on contemporary fashion. It also highlights the importance of historical heritage in preserving cultural traditions, promoting national values, and developing the principles of sustainable fashion.
