Abstract
The primary aim of this research is to investigate the structural-semantic typology of English complex sentences and to identify the fundamental linguistic challenges encountered during their translation into the Uzbek language. To achieve this, several research methods were employed, including contrastive-typological analysis, semantic mapping, and functional-transformational modeling to compare the analytical structure of English with the synthetic framework of Uzbek.
The research results indicate a significant structural divergence between the two languages, particularly in the rendition of relative and temporal clauses. Data analysis shows that approximately 72% of English complex structures undergo "grammatical compression," shifting from finite clauses to participial or gerundial phrases in Uzbek to maintain natural fluency. Furthermore, the findings highlight that semantic ambiguity in English conjunctions often leads to logical discrepancies in translated texts.
The conclusions suggest that effective translation requires a "functional-equivalent" approach rather than literal substitution. The study emphasizes the necessity of developing specialized digital linguistic tools and visual semantic models to assist translators in navigating these complexities, aligning with national strategies for advancing foreign language mastery and technological integration in linguistics.
