Abstract
The article analyzes Chinese realia found in the works of Alisher Navoi — «Chin,» «Khito,» «khoqon,» «mushki xito,» «nigori chin,» «chinsuvor,» and other lexical-cultural units — from phraseological and linguocultural perspectives. The poems «Farhod and Shirin,» «Sab’ai Sayyor,» and «Saddi Iskandariy» from the «Khamsa» cycle, as well as the ghazals included in the «Khazoyin ul-maoniy» divan, are drawn upon as research material. The article demonstrates the resemanticization of these realia within phraseological compositions in Navoi’s artistic world as symbols of beauty, art, refinement, and cultural exoticism, and records the linguocultural traces of cultural connections that emerged via the Great Silk Road in Navoi’s text.
