Abstract
This article discusses the role of methodology for developing oral speech in mother tongue classes within the education system. The pedagogical and methodological foundations of speech culture formation are analyzed, and the main requirements for students’ speech as well as interactive methods aimed at improving speech skills are described. The study also identifies factors negatively affecting the development of students’ oral and written speech and suggests ways to overcome them. The findings indicate that the use of modern pedagogical technologies in mother tongue education contributes to the development of independent thinking, fluent speaking, and communicative competence among students.
