Abstract
The article thoroughly examines the enlightenment activities of Samarkand Jadids in the early 20th century within the framework of the Jadid movement, particularly the ideas of modernizing society through the establishment of new-method schools (usuli jadid). The educational reforms carried out by prominent Jadid intellectuals such as Abduqodir Shakuriy, Siddiqiy Ajziy, and Hoji Muin, the creation of textbooks, publication of newspapers and journals, and cultural-enlightenment initiatives are analyzed in detail. Jadids viewed education as the primary tool for awakening the nation, eradicating illiteracy, and introducing secular knowledge. Amid colonial policies and opposition from traditional clergy, this activity played a significant role in shaping national liberation ideas and preparing the intellectual elite of subsequent generations. The article evaluates the legacy of Jadidism in the field of education from the perspective of its contemporary relevance.
