Abstract
This article analyzes the territorial composition and the ethnic and social structure of the population of the Kokand Khanate, the Bukhara Emirate, and the Khiva Khanate, which existed in Central Asia during the 18th–19th centuries. The study highlights the geographical location of the khanates, their population size, ethnic composition, as well as the interactions between sedentary and nomadic communities.
