Abstract
The thesis examines the typology of female characters in contemporary Russian and Uzbek drama, focusing on the national and cultural specificity of artistic images. Particular attention is paid to the ways female identity is represented, the social and family roles of heroines, their value orientations, internal conflicts, and forms of interaction with the traditional and modern sociocultural environment. Based on a comparative-typological approach, the main types of female characters are identified, and the distinctive features of their artistic representation in Russian and Uzbek dramatic traditions are analyzed. Particular importance is attached to the correlation between universal characteristics of the female image and national perceptions of family, motherhood, personal freedom, social responsibility, and self-realization. The comparative analysis makes it possible to identify both typological similarities resulting from common social and cultural transformations of the modern era and differences associated with national mentality, value systems, and the specific nature of the artistic consciousness of the two literatures. It is concluded that female characters in contemporary drama function not only as elements of the plot and conflict structure of a work but also as an important means of artistically comprehending the transformation of gender, family, and sociocultural values.
