Abstract
This paper compares virtual crossmatch and complement-dependent cytotoxicity crossmatch for assessing donor–recipient immunological compatibility before organ transplantation. It addresses the interpretation of HLA antibody profiles obtained using Luminex, donor-specific antibodies, and CDC crossmatch findings. The laboratory diagnostic significance of using these methods as complementary approaches is discussed.
