Abstract

This thesis examines the issues of information security and media literacy in social networks, as well as their interconnection and significance in the modern information society. It analyzes the main threats encountered on social media platforms, including fake news, cybercrime, and information manipulation, along with methods of their prevention. The study highlights the importance of developing media literacy skills to ensure conscious and critical use of information. The findings emphasize that improving users’ awareness, critical thinking, and digital competencies plays a key role in maintaining information security and reducing the negative impact of harmful content.
