Abstract

The role of inflammatory factors (ICAM-1, VCAM-1) and cytokines (INF-γ, TNF-α, IL-1) in the development of chronic heart failure (CHF) is analyzed in this study. It highlights the systemic inflammatory processes occurring in patients with periodontitis due to the entry of periodontal pathogens, such as P. gingivalis and T. forsythia, into the circulatory system. Furthermore, it is substantiated that the elevation of interleukin levels (IL-6, IL-8) and C-reactive protein (CRP) caused by periodontitis accelerates cardiomyocyte damage.
