Abstract

Nonspecific cervicitis is one of the most common inflammatory pathologies of the cervix in women of reproductive age. In recent years, particular attention has been paid to the study of the immunological and biochemical mechanisms underlying the development of this disease. This paper examines the characteristics of the cytokine profile and free radical processes in nonspecific cervicitis.

The role of pro-inflammatory cytokines, disturbances of local immunity, lipid peroxidation processes, and oxidative stress in maintaining chronic inflammation is analyzed. It has been established that an imbalance in the cytokine system and activation of free radical reactions contribute to damage of the cervical epithelial tissues, disruption of regeneration processes, and chronic progression of the disease.

The obtained data confirm the importance of a comprehensive study of immunological and biochemical changes for improving diagnostics and increasing the effectiveness of treatment for nonspecific cervicitis.
