Abstract

This thesis analyzes the influence of social media discourse on the Uzbek literary language from a linguistic perspective. The study examines the lexical, grammatical, stylistic, and orthographic features of written speech developing on social media, as well as the influence of abbreviations, foreign borrowings, colloquial elements, emojis, and other digital communication tools on the norms of the literary language. It analyzes cases of simplification of linguistic units, the emergence of new forms of expression, and violations of certain literary norms resulting from the dominance of speed and informality in the social media environment. At the same time, the positive influence of social media on the popularization of new lexical units, the expansion of the communicative capabilities of the language, and the formation of modern speech culture is also highlighted. The results of the study are important for identifying the interaction between social media discourse and the Uzbek literary language, preserving literary language norms in digital communication, and improving speech culture.
