Abstract
This abstract explores the artistic interpretation of the lover (ashiq) and beloved (ma'shuqa) archetypes in the ghazals of Karimbek Kamiy. The objective of the study is to identify how romantic and spiritual emotions are articulated through these images, and how figurative devices characteristic of classical ghazal traditions function in Kamiy's poetry. The analysis focuses on the lover's posture toward the beloved, the psychological states of separation (hijran) and union (visal), the motifs of beauty and aloofness in portraying the beloved, as well as the similes (tashbih), metaphors (isti'ara), and hyperboles (mubalagha) that reveal the dynamic between these archetypes.
In this work, the lover and beloved are treated not merely as separate literary characters, but as interconnected aesthetic elements that shape the lyrical experience. The lover's plea, agony, and yearning are foregrounded through their relation to the beloved, while depictions of the beloved take on nuanced dimensions depending on the lyrical context. Examining Kamiy's ghazals through this lens illuminates the poet's mastery of classical romantic tropes and their contemporary poetic synthesis. The analysis is structured on direct poetic textual evidence and specific couplets (bayts).
