Abstract
This article discusses the regional features of speech, their formation factors and their significance in linguistic analysis. Attention is paid to the lexical, phonetic, morphological, syntactic and pragmatic features of regional speech, and the manifestation of such units in written and digital communication is analyzed. It also justifies the need to use context, repetition, comparative material and a set of other linguistic features in identifying regional features. The article also shows additional diagnostic possibilities for forensic linguistic profiling of regional speech features.
