Historiography of Amir Temur and the Timurid period

Abstract

This article examines the development of the historiography of Amir Temur and the Timurid era, the major written sources, and modern scholarly approaches to the study of this period. The study analyzes Amir Temur’s state administration, political activity, constructive policy, and international diplomatic relations on the basis of historical materials. Particular attention is given to the works of Nizamiddin Shami, Sharafiddin Ali Yazdi, Ibn Arabshah, and Abdurazzaq Samarkandi as key historical sources on the Timurid era.
