Abstract
Listening comprehension is one of the most important language skills in English language learning. However, many learners experience difficulties in understanding native speakers due to differences in pronunciation, speech rate, and real-life language use. Authentic materials provide learners with exposure to natural language and real-world communication contexts. This article examines the role of authentic materials in improving listening comprehension skills among English language learners. It discusses the benefits of using authentic audio and video resources, explores effective classroom strategies, and highlights the impact of authentic materials on students' motivation and language proficiency. The findings suggest that the integration of authentic materials into English language instruction significantly enhances listening comprehension and prepares learners for real-life communication.
