Abstract
This article explores the role of authentic materials as an effective tool for increasing learner motivation and cultural awareness in English language teaching. The study focuses on how real-life resources such as newspapers, videos, podcasts, films, social media content, and advertisements enhance students’ interest, engagement, and understanding of different cultures. It also examines how authentic materials create meaningful learning experiences by connecting classroom instruction with real-world communication. The findings suggest that authentic materials significantly improve learners’ motivation, intercultural understanding, and active participation in language learning.
