Abstract
This article presents a comparative analysis of the development of women's entrepreneurship as an alternative mechanism for achieving gender equality under conditions of labour market transformation, using the experience of China and Uzbekistan as case studies. The aim of the study is to determine to what extent entrepreneurship can serve as an effective pathway for enhancing women's economic independence at a time when the gender gap in the traditional wage labour market persists in both countries.
