Abstract
This article analyzes the psychological and pedagogical relationship between students’ social activity and academic motivation. In higher education, not only academic achievement but also students’ participation in social activities, communication, collaboration, initiative, and active engagement in the educational environment are important indicators of personal development. The article examines the main mechanisms through which social activity may influence academic motivation, including self-expression, sense of belonging, competence, autonomy, social support, and goal orientation. Particular attention is paid to the role of an active social and educational environment in strengthening students’ intrinsic interest in learning. The study suggests that increasing academic motivation in higher education requires not only traditional forms of academic encouragement but also the development of opportunities for meaningful social participation and collaborative learning.
