Abstract
The paper assesses the effect of green finance on the financial stability and competitiveness of commercial banks in Uzbekistan. It reviews the green taxonomy (2023), the green bonds of SQB and Agrobank, and capital, liquidity and asset-quality indicators. Agrobank’s USD 455.1 million issue equals about 4% of banks’ external debt, while state banks hold 65.5% of assets. Green finance affects banks through funding diversification and risk management, but its scale remains limited.
