Abstract

This article analyzes the biochemical properties of vitamin D, its metabolic processes in the human body, and its strategic role in calcium-phosphorus metabolism. The step-by-step activation of vitamin D in the liver and kidneys, as well as its importance in bone tissue, the immune system, and endocrine homeostasis, are scientifically explained.

In addition, the clinical consequences of vitamin D deficiency, including rickets, osteomalacia, osteoporosis, and decreased immune system function, are discussed. The article also provides information on the role of vitamin D in prevention and treatment in modern medicine, as well as the risks associated with hypervitaminosis.
