Abstract

This article provides a systematic analysis of the current issues regarding the formation of students' critical and creative (imaginative) thinking skills in mother tongue and literature classes of general secondary schools. It scientifically substantiates the practical importance of modern interactive methods, graphic organizers, and cognitive approaches that move away from the model of merely memorizing information (reproductive education) in the educational process and instead awaken students' analytical, productive, and productively creative thinking.
