Abstract

This article analyzes the issue of integrating Uzbek national musical instruments — dutor, tanbur, rubob, gijjak, doira, nay, and chang — with modern music genres such as jazz, pop, electronic music, rock, and “world music.” The timbral characteristics and acoustic possibilities of national instruments, as well as methods of adapting them to contemporary melodies, are examined. The article also discusses the creative and technical challenges arising in this integration process, ways to overcome them, and the significance of such fusion in popularizing national musical heritage among the younger generation.
