Abstract

In the context of modern education, the professional development of English language teachers extends beyond linguistic knowledge and pedagogical skills, requiring a comprehensive set of competencies. Among these, project competence occupies a special place, particularly within learner-centered and competency-based educational paradigms. This article analyzes the role and significance of project competence in the system of professional competencies of English language teachers. It examines the theoretical foundations, highlights the key components of project competence, and discusses its importance in foreign language teaching practice. The findings indicate that project competence enhances teachers’ ability to create an effective learning environment, fosters students’ communicative and critical thinking skills, and ensures alignment with contemporary educational standards.
