Abstract
This article analyzes the legal and institutional problems in the process of harmonizing the national legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan regulating foreign trade activities with the norms and standards of the World Trade Organization (WTO). The inconsistencies between the basic legal principles of the WTO - most-favored nation (MFN) and national treatment - and the norms of national legislation are considered, as well as the difficulties in implementing the agreements on intellectual property rights (TRIPS), technical barriers to trade (TBT) and sanitary and phytosanitary measures (SPS) into the national legal system. Using comparative legal and systematic analysis methods, the author substantiates the need to transform the activities of state bodies regulating foreign trade and proposes a model of a single legal platform that ensures institutional interdepartmental consistency. The results of the study are of practical and legal importance at the stage of completing the process of Uzbekistan's accession to the WTO.
