Abstract
This article examines the historiography of traditional family ceremonies in the Khorezm region. It analyzes the scholarly study of rituals related to childbirth, cradle ceremonies, circumcision ceremonies, wedding practices, bride greeting rituals, kinship relations, funeral customs, and commemorative practices. Particular attention is paid to Soviet ethnographic research, the materials of the Khorezm Archaeological-Ethnographic Expedition, the scholarly works of G. P. Snesarev and N. P. Lobacheva, and new approaches that emerged during the period of Uzbekistan's independence. The article highlights the importance of historical-ethnographic, source-critical, and cultural-anthropological approaches in studying Khorezm family rituals.
