Abstract

This article examines the international legal aspects of transboundary water resource management in Central Asia. The study analyzes legal mechanisms governing the Amu Darya and Syr Darya river basins, the fundamental principles of international water law, and regional cooperation frameworks. Particular attention is given to the impacts of climate change and the Aral Sea crisis on water resources. The research identifies existing legal challenges and proposes recommendations aimed at strengthening water diplomacy and establishing a unified regional water management platform in Central Asia.
