QOZOQBOY YO‘LDOSHEV’S LITERARY-CRITICAL VIEWS AND HIS PLACE IN CONTEMPORARY UZBEK LITERARY STUDIES

Abstract

This article analyzes the literary-critical views of Qozoqboy Yoldoshev, a prominent figure in contemporary Uzbek literary studies and criticism. It examines the scholar's perspective on the literary process, his criteria for evaluating literary works, and his insights regarding the author's personality, artistic craftsmanship, and the expression of national and universal values in literature. Furthermore, the article identifies the key directions of his critical work based on books such as “Yoniq so‘z” (Burning Word) and “So‘z yolqini” (The Flame of the Word). It also analyzes the distinctive characteristics of Yoldoshev’s criticism—specifically the principles of grasping the essence of a literary text, revealing a work's aesthetic value, evaluating an author's individual style, consistently monitoring the literary process, and understanding national literature in the context of global literary standards.
