Abstract

This article examines the role of digital resources in developing listening comprehension and speaking skills among non-linguistic university students learning Russian as a foreign language. The study analyzes the theoretical foundations of listening and speaking as interconnected types of speech activity, as well as the cognitive mechanisms underlying their development. Special attention is given to the potential of the digital learning environment, including video platforms, podcasts, mobile applications, videoconferencing tools, and speech recognition technologies. It is demonstrated that the integration of digital tools expands access to authentic language input, enhances task variability, and supports learner autonomy and self-monitoring. The article presents a classification of listening types and speaking tasks, along with practical scenarios for their implementation in the educational process. The advantages and limitations of digital resources are identified, and the necessity of their methodologically grounded use is substantiated. The study concludes that digital tools are an effective means of developing communicative competence when integrated into communicative and competency-based approaches..
