Abstract
This article examines the internal syntactic models of English and Uzbek from a typological perspective. The study focuses on word order universals, the characteristics of head-initial and head-final languages, and the comparative analysis of free and fixed word combinations. It also discusses the role of internal syntax within the hierarchy of linguistic units, its theoretical and terminological issues, and the practical significance of comparative studies for language teaching and translation studies.
