IMPROVING THE KPI-BASED MECHANISM FOR MANAGING FACULTY WORK PERFORMANCE IN PRIVATE HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

Abstract

The article examines the improvement of the mechanism for managing the labor efficiency of academic staff in private universities based on a KPI system. The relevance of the topic stems from the fact that the rapid growth of private higher education institutions is not always matched by transparent and motivating mechanisms for evaluating faculty performance. The study aims to develop a comprehensive model for assessing faculty activity based on Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and to evaluate its impact on labor efficiency. The author develops a "labor efficiency index" covering four dimensions: teaching, research, methodological, and socio-educational activity. The findings show that departments that have implemented a KPI system demonstrate notably higher faculty research activity and student evaluation scores. The author's personal approach lies in combining quantitative indicators with qualitative evaluation criteria. The scientific novelty of the article lies in proposing a KPI mechanism adapted to the conditions of private universities, linking material and non-material incentives.
