Abstract
This article presents a retrospective analysis of clinical and demographic characteristics, socio-occupational structure, and comorbid status in patients with postoperative ventral hernias. The study was conducted based on the medical records of 71 patients. The results showed that the disease predominantly affects women aged 50–69 years (69%), as well as retirees and manual workers. A significant majority of patients were found to have comorbid conditions, such as obesity (58%) and cardiovascular pathologies (61%). Although the use of synthetic materials (allohernioplasty) reduces recurrence rates to 1–5%, it has been shown to increase the risk of wound complications (18.6–67%). The study provides a rationale for intensifying preoperative management and adopting an individualized surgical strategy.
