Abstract
This article examines legal issues that migrants working abroad may encounter, including the improper formalization of employment contracts, delayed or incomplete payment of wages, disputes with employers, and a lack of reliable legal information. The aim of the article is to identify factors that hinder the improvement of labor migrants’ legal literacy and develop practical proposals to address them. The study employs methods of analyzing regulatory legal acts, reviewing scientific literature, and conducting a comparative analysis of materials on international experience. The analysis identifies language barriers, difficulties in understanding the legislation of destination countries and the terms of employment contracts, as well as insufficient awareness of procedures for obtaining legal assistance, as major challenges.
The scientific novelty of the article lies in proposing a phased approach to developing migrants’ legal preparedness, beginning before employment and continuing through their work abroad and legal protection after their return. The article puts forward proposals for providing migrants with legal training before departure, expanding access to reliable information sources in Uzbek, using electronic consultation services, and providing practical information on complaint mechanisms.
