Abstract
This article analyzes the pedagogical and psychological foundations of developing communicative competence in children with intellectual disabilities. It examines the concept of communicative competence, its role in the development of children with intellectual disabilities, and effective methods and tools used in the special education process. The findings indicate that the development of communicative competence contributes to improving children's speech abilities, social adaptation, and interpersonal relationships.
