Abstract

This article provides a comparative-typological and linguacultural analysis of phraseological units containing plant names (phytonyms) in the German and Uzbek languages. The study explores how the nature, culture, lifestyle, and worldview of both nations—belonging to the Germanic and Turkic language families, respectively—are reflected in these idioms, highlighting their semantic similarities and distinct national-cultural differences. Furthermore, the paper systemizes the lexicographical interpretation of phytonymic idioms and the translation models that emerge when rendering them into the Uzbek language.
