Abstract

This article analyzes modern approaches to assessing and managing potential accident risks in reservoirs and dams. Threats related to the technical condition of dams, hydrological factors, seismic hazards, and human factors are examined. In addition, effective methods of risk management for hydraulic structures are discussed based on the experiences of the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, China, and the United States. The research findings demonstrate that digital monitoring, geoinformation technologies, and artificial intelligence-based control systems play a significant role in ensuring the safety of reservoirs and dams.
