Abstract
This article analyzes the formation of coin-minting traditions in the territory of Sogdia during the Early Middle Ages, as well as the reflection of local political authority and economic relations in numismatic materials. It also highlights the possibilities of studying historical processes through inscriptions, depictions of rulers, and symbolic motifs on coins.
