Abstract

This article analyzes the prospects and practical effectiveness of applying Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in logistics systems. Within the framework of the study, a comparative analysis was conducted based on data collected from a six-month pilot project involving six logistics and supply chain companies. In addition, cost-benefit calculations and indicators of investment efficiency (Return on Investment, ROI) were determined. The results showed that the implementation of IoT technologies increased the accuracy of real-time cargo tracking from 54% to 96%, reduced vehicle idle time by approximately 2.3 times, decreased fuel consumption by 20%, and shortened warehouse inventory processing time by 73%. According to the calculations, the investment payback period is approximately 2.65 years, while the five-year ROI reaches 89%.
