Abstract
This article examines the theoretical and legal issues of employee incentives under labor legislation. It analyzes the concept, legal nature, and functions of incentive measures as a positive legal instrument for strengthening labor discipline and increasing labor productivity, drawing on general theories of labor motivation. The study reviews the approach of the Labor Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan toward the grounds, forms, and procedure for applying incentive measures, as well as their relationship with disciplinary liability. International experience in the legal regulation of employee incentives — including profit-sharing mechanisms in France, co-determination procedures in Germany, statutory incentive types in the Russian Federation, and seniority-linked bonus practices in Japan — is also considered. Based on the analysis, the article identifies existing gaps in domestic practice and offers recommendations for improving the legal regulation of the employee incentive system in Uzbekistan.
