Abstract

This paper analyzes the conceptual foundations of intelligent systems, which represent a core direction in modern digital technologies, emphasizing their distinctive features compared to traditional systems and the fundamental importance of knowledge bases. Intelligent systems are systematically classified based on the nature of their tasks (diagnostics, forecasting, design, etc.), decision-making methods (expert systems, artificial neural networks, fuzzy logic, and multi-agent systems), and knowledge acquisition capabilities. Particular attention is paid to the architecture of hybrid intelligent systems, which combine the adaptability of neural networks with the transparency of expert systems. The study justifies the efficiency and development prospects of hybrid approaches in solving complex problems under high uncertainty, specifically in improving the quality of medical and technical diagnostic processes.
